The 31st Annual Senior Enrichment Day will be held on Wednesday, June 26tha t the Big Rapids High School. The day begins with 8 AM and includes time slots for four seminars and a luncheon with the event concluding at approximately 3 PM.
The seminar series offered this year include a choice of more than 40 diverse educational sessions. Such optiosn include; fitness classes, floral arranging, painting, long term care and financial planning options, assistance with Medicare, Veteran's benefits, and more. The sessions are 45 minutes in length and are designed for seniors, their children and caregivers.
During the luncheon, Mary Pine award winners will be announced. The Mary Pine award is given to honor special citizens, age 55 and over, who use the gifts of a long and productive life to benefit Mecosta County in a postive manner.
Registration materials for the Senior Enrichment Day may be found at locations throughout the county includeing the Mecosta County Commission on Aging, the Big Rapids Community Library, Lake Osceola State Bank, the Morton Township Library, and Patterson's Flowers. Ferris Community Summer Band Concert will take place June 26 at 7 PM at Big Rapids Band Shell. Alternate rain location is Big Rapids First United Methodist Church.
Concert is free and open to all.
