Hand Built Pottery
Instructed by Joe Percy
Ages 7-15
June 19-21 & July 13/ Cost $120.00
Pottery camp is a great opportunity for children to explore the joys and challenges of working with clay. Each junior artist will experience the entire process of hand building with clay, and then coming back after their masterpieces have been dried and fired to glaze. After a final glaze firing, pieces will be ready to pick up and take home.
If your child is unable to attend the additional day of camp for glazing, no worries! One of our instructors will glaze their pieces for them.
Community members are invited to enjoy food, entertainment, and games for the whole family. The "Veggie Van" sponsored by Spectrum Health and the YMCA, will be one site to offer bags of fruits and vegetables, primarily from area farms, to encourage healthy eating habits.
In addition to the health fair, planned features are free entertainment by Stage M and the Ferris State Community Summer Bands, a bicycle drawing, and AeroMEd helicopter and a BIg Rapids fire truck.
The health fair features a wide variety of interactive booths offered by the hospital and other health-related community organizations.
