The Lilac Festival is a chance for families to come out and do something fun, as a hometown, family-friendly event.
Events include a petting zoo, car show, and a wide array of local vendor tents.
Barryton Lilac Festival
From 8:00AM to 4:00PM
The Lilac Festival is a chance for families to come out and do something fun, as a hometown, family-friendly event. The fun begins on Friday June 2nd with a talent show, pony rides, and a petting zoo. Saturday the festival gets into full swing with the parade at 11 a.m. Other events on Saturday include a car show, free-throw shoot out, as well as the vendor and craft show. The festival wraps up on Sunday with a community potluck in the park.
Big Rapids Jaycees Community Donation Drive
From 10:00AM to 2:00PM
Donations will benefit these local outreach agencies:
Manna Pantry
- peanut butter
- boxed macaroni and cheese meals
Meceola Big Brothers Big Sisters

arts and crafts packages and coloring books
- (elementary through junior-high level)
- blank purple or yellow child and adolescent-sized t-shirts
Wesley House (FSU)
- full-sized men’s and women’s deodorant
- toilet paper
Collect any of these items, and drop off your donations any day from Sunday, April 29th - Sunday, June 3rd
at the drop-off box located at the Mecosta County Area Chamber of Commerce, located at the Welcome Center!
Welcome Center hours: Monday—Friday 9:00am—5:00pm
