“New Journey Clubhouse is a program of Community Mental Health for Central Michigan that will be hosting a Walk-A-Mile event on April 28^th 2018 at the Hemlock Park. The event is intended to raise awareness regarding mental health issues. One in four people will battle a mental illness this year. So what that means is someone you know may be struggling with mental health concerns. Unfortunately, many of those individuals will not seek treatment due to stigma and discrimination. We are pleased to open the event with a nationally recognized keynote speaker, Mr. Jim Tuman who will present at 11:00 A.M. under the pavilion. Jim has appeared on ABC, NBC, CBS national news, the Today Show and the Oprah Winfrey Show. Music and free lunch will be available beginning at noon under the pavilion and the walk will commence at 1:00 p.m. We  look forward to having positive community support for this event.”

The Newaygo County Autism Community is hosting their 4th Annual Walk for Autism on April 28th, 2018. This event is FREE to everyone. Fun family activities, including a bounce house and refreshments are provided for all to enjoy. This is a fun day for our community to help raise awareness, acceptance, and support for those families and individuals with autism. Donations and pledges are welcome, but not required to participate.
