Play Groups are offered free of charge to children birth-5 and their parents who reside with-in the Mecosta Osceola Intermediate School District Area. Beginning the week of September 4th through the end of the 2017-18 school year.
*With exceptions to holidays and weather related school closings*
*Please check your local TV and Radio Station for school closings. If the local district is canceled, so is playgroup!*

Sheepshank Sam Old Time Michigan Lumberjack

Location: Artworks 106 N. Michigan Ave.
Ben Thompson portrays Sheepshank Sam, an old-time shanty boy lumberjack who, using historical information sprinkled with tall tales, will transport you back in time to a lumberjack camp in Michigan's northern wilderness during the late 1800's. Participants will learn how trees were felled, cut into logs, skidded out of the woods, and floated down the river to the sawmill. Sheep-shank Sam's program, although designed for elementary students, will appeal to all ages.
Straw bale Gardening with Carlleen Rose
