BR Hospital's Community Block Party & Health Fair
From 5:00PM to 8:00PM
Community members are invited to enjoy entertainment and dinner at the annual Spectrum Health Big Rapids Hospital Community Block Party on June 22. The block party will be held from 5 pm to 8 pm. in Centennial Park, just east of Spectrum Health Big Rapids Hospital.
New to the Community Block Party this year is a Health Fair. Interactive booths will be open from 5 pm to 6:30 pm. covering several community health-related issues such as:
- Breast Cancer Awareness
- Diabetes Tests and Education
- Blood Pressure Checks
- Autism Awareness
- Car Seat Safety Education
- First Aid Demonstrations and Education
- And much more!!
Those who participate in the Health Fair and complete a punch card will be entered to win a free kayak!
Dinner includes a walking taco and ice cream for only $5, and children under 12 eat free.
At 6:30 pm Stage M will perform a selection from South Pacific, its summer musical production, and at 7 pm live music will be provided by the FerrisState University Community Summer Band under the direction of Dr. Richard Scott Cohen.
In the event of Inclement weather, the block party will be canceled.
Youth Shooting Program
From 5:30PM to 7:30PM
The Mecosta County Rod and Gun Clubs annual youth shooting program will be starting on June 15th and runs through August 17th. The program is free to youth ages 11-17 and will be held on Thursdays from 5:30-7:30 at the club at 10600 11 Mile Rd. (M-20) Mecosta. The club is located 4 miles west of Mecosta. Participants will shoot 22 caliber rifles, shotguns, and learn about the reloading of shotgun shells.
