Festival of the Arts 2012 Opening Reception
From 7:00PM to 9:00PM
Location: Artworks, 106 North Michigan Ave.. Big Rapids. The opening reception for the 2012 Festival of the Arts will feature remarks by artist Winifred Godfrey and the opportunity to meet artist Linda Stephen. Godfrey’s “Mayan Procession” and Stephen’s Origami exhibitions will be on display at Artworks through February 25. The public is invited to meet the artists and add to the collaborative art piece “Big Rapids: Enfolded by Beauty,” Stephen’s origami mosaic scene with hundreds of zinnias and tulips of handmade paper. The work honors the joys large and small that make Big Rapids a great place to live. The reception will also feature works by numerous local artists participating in the 2012 Festival of the Arts.
